Nevertheless, the term "cosmetic dentistry" has come to refer to certain procedures, such as bonding, veneering, bleaching, and "capping" teeth.  It may involve sculpting the gums or moving teeth with orthodontic braces.

Often these procedures are needed to restore teeth to proper function.  Howeverm, many "cosmetic dentistry" procedures are elective, in the same way that plastic surgery may be elective.

In our Red Bank dental practice, we provide veneers, caps or bonding procedures as part of our treatment plan when needed to repair teeth.  We also provide the "elective" cosmetic procedures, such as bleaching, after a thorough discussion of what the patient's needs and desires may be.

Cosmetic dental treatments can:
